We got this cabinet from a family member. It looked a little rough at first, but David put some Old English on it and now it looks really good! I looked at it and immediately wanted to paint it, but it actually matches our kitchen table and chairs. I'm not really sure what to do. If I paint the cabinet, I'll have to paint the table and chairs as well. That sounds like a lot of work to me, but light wood isn't really in style anymore. Not sure what to do. Oh well, at least it matches right now.
David and I weren't really sure what we were going to do with it. We have plenty of shelf space in our kitchen-so much that we've put random things in random spots just so that there's something there. We had no idea how we were going to fill the space. Until of course, I came up with this crazy idea!
I have been using our spare bedroom as a sewing room, which has created quite a mess. Plus, I haven't had a table to use, so I've been using the kitchen table. This means the table would be cluttered with sewing material instead of with the night's dinner. UNTIL NOW.
I had this crazy idea to make the cabinet a sewing cabinet. There's even a hole in the back (as you can see) where I can plug in the sewing machine. I have been so excited that I already started moving my sewing and crafty stuff to the cabinet.
It looks great. If you did paint it you wouldn't necessarily have to paint the table. Fun sewing cabinet
ReplyDeleteI Agree with the above comment. You can def paint the armoir and keep the Table the same... actually different is a growing trend :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of keeping all your crafty stuff in there. I have a craft dresser that I shove my stuff into! I actually painted it and made the knobs for it! (my favorite creation so far)
That armoir has beautiful bones to it, so adding paint would make it feel brand new and I bet it would look awesome!
P.s. I wish having too much space was an issue at my apt. LOL
