Weekends make me happy.

Highlights of the weekend thus far:

*Eating super awesome cheeseburgers from this place called NY-Boyz Subz and Wingz using our 2 for 1 coupon from ASU. We were a little skeptical at first because it looked like a deli. I heard a few people compliment the cook at the restaurant. I didn't really think anything of it until my eyes beheld the ginormo burger that David and I were about to partake of. At first when we ordered, I seriously thought that just a single measly hamburger wouldn't be enough to satisfy my deathly hunger. I mean... I was REALLY hungry. I don't think David even believed how FAMISHED I really was. (I really don't think you did, David.) He kept asking me what was wrong and all I could think of was eating. I guess I get a little impatient when I'm hungry. Now that I think about it, I probably look a lot like Chris Farley in this SNL skit... except not as pleasant.  "Lay off me, I'm starving!"

Sorry. Tangent.

I wish I would've taken a picture of that beauty that is called a "Phat" burger. I made a joke later that it was Pretty Hot and Tasty. And yes. I did come up with that almost on my own.  I know... you're impressed.

David and I could barely fit our burgers into our mouths. In fact, I think I got a good majority of that beast on my face. Don't worry though, I took care of it. Nothing went to waste. Oh man, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.  So anyway, David looked up the reviews for the place and apparently they have really amazing pizza. We will DEFINITELY be back. We made sure to tell the cook/owner how much we loved it. The cook/owner was pretty cool too. You can tell he is from New York. He just had that really cool, "laid back, but don't give me any crap, otherwise I'll have to give you a good smack" kind of feel to him. And yes, I just did it again. Totally made that up on my own just now.

* Eating some more frozen yogurt for dessert, with another coupon. (Side note: Man! We sound cheap! We are poor college students! Bear with us, people!). It was awesome. I, yet again, forgot to document our ventures with a picture. I'm sorry. I suck at this.

*Listening to Hubs (short for husband) sing, "Want you to make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world". Classic.

*Attending a picnic in the park with friends. We were one of a few couples that didn't bring children to the park. I guess we missed the memo that said to bring a child.

*Trying to read for class, but not being able to because the hubs wouldn't let me. He strategically cuddled up to me so close and in such a way that I couldn't even look at my computer screen to read the assigned article. He's very stealthy.

*The nap we took because D was so stealthy. It was originally against my will because I'm trying to be a better student this semester, but now I'd say it was worth it.

*Exchanging a shirt I got with mom for a really cute denim skirt from Anthro. The shirt was cute, but I will get a lot more use out of the skirt. I mean.. that place is expensive. If I'm going to get something from that place, I might as well make it worth it.

*Not being totally weighed down with the burdens of being an intern at CPS. I've decided that I'm going to just try leaving it at work. I didn't have a huge venting session with D as soon as I got in on Thursday and it actually affected me in a much more positive way. When I come home to vent my frustrations, it just seem to make me feel worse sometimes.

I'd say it's been a pretty delightful weekend. I hope your weekend is too!

  1. First of all....we go to all the same place!:)

    Second...I LOVE Anthro...but yeah... mucho $!

Lastly....I worked with CPS on a couple cases right out of college...um yeah. HEAVY stuff. Go you. that is really tough...my mentor used to tell me to just have a good cry on the way home, then leave it at the door. It's tough, but I'm sure you're such a blessing in the lives you work with! Good luck with everything:)

  2. Oh really? Haha, we just go to the places where we can use coupons... and of course, there's Mojo, which I just love!

You did? Oh, I had no idea! What is your major?
Ha, I don't know if I can say I've really been a "blessing" to anyone, but this experience has been a real eye opener to me and kind of a frustration, sadly enough.

    Thank you! You too!
